Coaching Staff

Christine Aletras

 IMPACT CERTIFIED, CPR CERTIFIED, CAP LEVEL 1 CERTIFIED, FORMER COLLEGIATE ATHLETE, FORMER CUT SHOT PLAYER, FORMER HS ASSSTANT HEAD COACH, CLUB COACH.

Playing Experience: Christine is a former player of Cut Shot VBC.  She was with the club for her entire high school career.  She then went on to play for Richard Stockton College for four years, as a three-year captain setter, and currently holds the record for assists per season.  She was elected three straight years to the NJAC All-Conference team, nationally ranked #32 in NCAA Women’s Volleyball Division III. 

Coaching Experience: Christine has been coaching volleyball since here senior year in college.  Her first year as 16-1’s head coach at East Coast Crush, last year as TCA’s 16-1’s head coach.  She has also coached as the Assistant Varsity head coach for Glen Rock and Mahwah HS, 2009-2010, respectively.  For the 2011-12 season, Christine will be the assistant coach for the 17-Elite team.

Angela Campo

IMPACT CERTIFIED, COLLEGIATE ATHLETE, FORMER CUT SHOT PLAYER, CLUB COACH.

Playing Experience:  Angela started her volleyball career in 9th grade.  She is a 3 year varsity player at West Wood High School.  Angela is also a former Cut Shot player (3 years, 16-Select, 17-Elite, 18-Elite).  She is a current collegiate athlete at Montclair State University. She is the current starting setter for the Red Hawks.

Coaching Experience: This will be Angela's first year as a member of the Cut Shot staff.  For the 2011-2012 season, she will be the 14-Elite Assistant Coach.

Brian Carmen

IMPACT CERTIFIED,  CPR CERTIFIED, CLUB COACH

Playing Experience:  Brian has played volleyball for about ten years, and has two daughters that played club and high school volleyball.  Brian is also a NJ certified high school volleyball referee.

Coaching Experience:  Brian Carmen is a recently retired police officer. Brian spent many years involved in youth programs and coaching youth sports programs. This is the third year Brian will be coaching with Cut Shot.
 

Ashley Cornett

IMPACT CERTIFIED, CPR CERTIFIED, CLUB COACH, JUNIOR VARSITY COACH, FORMER COLLEGE PLAYER

Playing experience:  Ashley has been involved with volleyball since 8th grade.  She started her volleyball experience as a setter at Hawthorne High School, being a varsity athlete for 3 years. In high school, she made 1st team All-State, All-Passaic county, and All BPSL-league.  Ashley concluded her high school career by being selected to play in the New Jersey Senior All-Star Game.  She also played throughout high school for Allegro Volleyball Club (1 year) and Atlantic Volleyball Club for (2 years) as a setter for both clubs' elite teams.   After high school, Ashley continued her career at Ramapo College for four years, (titled captain for 2 years).  She holds the Women's Volleyball record at Ramapo for career assists of 2900.  After her sophomore season, Ashley was nominated and selected to play in Italy for 2 weeks as part of a National Collegiate Team through American International Sports.  In Italy, her team received the Bronze Medal at a tournament held in Rome.  Ashley obtained several accolades while at Ramapo including Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player her sophomore year, Coach's Award as a Junior, and awarded MVP her senior year season.  She was also named COSIDA 2nd-Team All American in 2006 & 2007. She was recognized in 2008 by NJAIAW as Ramapo's Female Athlete of the Year.

Coaching experience:  Ashley began her coaching experience in 2005.  She has been with Cut Shot Volleyball Club for 5 seasons.  She has held both assistant coaching and head coaching positions of 14s, 15s, 16s, 18s age groups.  For the 2009 high school season, Ashley was the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach of Woodridge High School.  For the 2011-2012 season, Ashley will be the head coach for the 16-Elite team

Rachel Guyt

IMPACT CERTIFIED, FORMER CUTSHOT PLAYER, FORMER COLLEGE PLAYER

Playing Experience
: Rachel has been a dedicated athlete since the age of 12. Playing basketball, volleyball and running track. Rachel took a real interest in volleyball during her freshman year of high school. Once she joined CSVC, the season of her junior year, she developed into a strong MB. She ended her senior year of high school at PVHS, helping to lead her team to a group two state championship and was selected as a 1st team All-League player and received honorable mention for All-County. She chose to continue her volleyball career at Rutger-Newark University. There she received the award for Rookie of the week due to a career-high and team-individual high of 23 kills, hitting a .403 with a combined .833 for that week. Rachel is still in active volleyball player, playing in outdoor leagues and occasionally taking part in beach volleyball tournaments.

Coaching Experience: This will be Rachel’s first year coaching for CSVC and her first year as aregistered USA volleyball coach. Rachel will the 16-Capital Assistant Coach.

Katlyn Lewis

IMPACT CERTIFIED, CPR CERTIFIED, CLUB COACH, FORMER CUTSHOT PLAYER, FORMER COLLEGE PLAYER

Playing experience:  Katlyn has been playing volleyball since she was 13. She played for four years for PVHS as an outside hitter and opposite. As a senior she was selected to the All Bergen County team and helped lead her team to a group 2 state championship as well a bergen county runner up. She played on elite level teams at Cutshot VBC from 14's-18's.??Katlyn played in college for DIII Rutgers-Newark and DI New Jersey Institute of Technology. As a freshman she was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference rookie of the week three times and was named 2nd team all NJAC.

Coaching experience:  Katlyn is going on her 4th season coaching with Cut Shot. She has been an assistant coach at the 18's and 17's level. For the 2011-12 season, Kate will be the 16-Elite Assistant Coach.
 

Daniella Salemo

IMPACT CERTIFIED, COLLEGIATE ATHLETE, FORMER CUT SHOT PLAYER, CLUB COACH.

Playing Experience:  Daniella began her volleyball career in 8th grade.  She is a 4-year varsity letter winner for Ramsey HS.  She is also a former Cut Shot player (17-Elite, 18-Elite).  Daniella is a current collegiate volleyball player at Montcalir State University.  For the red-hawks, she has earned NJAC Rookie of the Week two-times in her first season, as an Outside Hitter.

Coaching Experience: This will be Daniellla's debut season with Cut Shot.  For the 2011-12 season she will be the 15-Elite Assistant Coach.

 

Brian Sharlow

IMPACT CERTIFIED, CPR CERTIFIED, CLUB COACH, FORMER COLLEGIATE CLUB PLAYER

Playing Experience: Brian has been playing volleyball 10 years.  He was All-League, All-County, All-North Jersey, and All-State numerous times.  He played club at Penn State and was vice president for 2 years.  He's competed on the national level against teams from all over the country.  He still plays volleyball in all forms at a very high level, indoor, quads, grass and beach.  When he is not coaching, he is usually playing.

Coaching Experience: Brian has been involved with Cut Shot for many years since his sister was a member of the program.  When he was in HS he used to come and play against the 18s team to give them the best competition possible.  He is in his 3rd year coaching the 17s.
 

Chris Siddayao

IMPACT CERTIFIED, FORMER DIVISON I COLLEGE PLAYER, CLUB COACH, DIVISION I ASSISTANT MEN'S VOLLEYBALL COACH

Playing Experience:  Chris has been playing volleyball for nine years.  He played for Clifton High School for four years.  He then continued his volleyball career at NJIT, where he was a four-year starter as the libero for the men’s team.  Chris still is very active as a volleyball player being the libero for a GEVA Men’s A/AA team.

Coaching Experience:  Chris has been with Cut Shot VBC for 2 seasons now.  He has coached both 15 and 16s age groups.  Chris is also the current NJIT Assistant Men's Varsity Volleyball Coach.
 

Jairo Sierra

IMPACT CERTIFIED, GOLD MEDAL SQUARED LEVEL 1 CERTIFIED, FORMER DIVISION III COLLEGIATE PLAYER, CLUB COACH, ASSISTANT VARISTY HS COACH

Playing Experience: Jairo began his volleyball career at Fair Lawn HS in 2000.  In 2003 he was named 2nd Team-All State, 1st team All-League/Area/County.  His success continued in 2004, being named to the 1st All-state team selection, and for the second year nomination to the 1st-team All Area team.  He was also received notoriety in The Bergen Record, Athlete of the Week (2-times, ’03, ’04), and for the Star Ledger, Athlete of the Week (’04) as well.  As a conclusion to his high school career in 2004, Jairo was named The Bergen Record Player of the Year.  During his collegiate career at Ramapo College, Jairo led the RoadRunners, as a freshman to a victory at the ECAC 2006 Championships.  In 2007, the Roadrunners again were named ECAC Champions.  During his Junior year season, Jairo was named 2nd Team All-Metro Conference, NECVA All-Tournament Team, and was selected to play overseas in Scotland on a US collegiate team.  In 2009, Jairo broke the assist record at Ramapo College ending his career with 3,944 Assists.  He was again awarded 1st Team All-Metro Conference, and named to MIT Invitational All-Tournament Team.  In 2010, Jairo played professional volleyball in Spain and Germany.  Also in 2010, the Bergen Record named Jairo an All-Decade Player along with 15 other male athletes out of the state.  Jairo still is an active volleyball player, currently setting on a USAV GEVA AA rated club team. 

Coaching Experience: Jairo started his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach for both Fair Lawn High School and Paramus High School girls’ volleyball programs., (2005-2010).  He was also a technical instructor/coach at Maria Nolan’s (IHA Head Girls’ Volleyball Coach) from 2008-2010.   In 2010, his club coaching career debuted for Essex Volleyball Club as the 15-1’s Head Coach.   He currently is the assistant Varsity coach for Bogota HS Girls’ Volleyball program.  For the 2011-12 season, Jairo will be the 16-Select Head coach.

John Wengerter

IMPACT CERTIFIED, CPR CERTIFIED, HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BOYS AND GIRLS COACH, CLUB COACH

Coaching Experience: John has been the head volleyball coach of Memorial HS for several years.  John has over 500 wins at the H.S. girls volleyball coaching level.  He has also been a head coach for Cut Shot VBC’s 15 & 16s Elite teams for the passed 7 seasons.  John also teaches volleyball to adults in a local league.  John was inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1999.  For the 2011-12 season, John will be the 15-Elite Head Coach.

Jamie Wengerter

CPR CERTIFIED, FORMER CUT SHOT PLAYER, CLUB COACH

Playing Experience:  Jamie has been playing volleyball since she was 10 years old.  She played at Emerson Jr/Sr HS for 4 years where she was named captain for 4 seasons.  She received 1st-team all-league 3 years, and 2nd-team all league for 1 year.  She also was awarded the MVP (3 seasons) and Coaches’ Award while at Emerson HS.

Coaching Experience:  Jamie has coached Cut Shot for about 4 years.  For the 2011-12 season, Jamie will be the 14-Elite Head Coach.

Casey Wengerter

IMPACT CERTIFIED, CPR CERTIFIED, CLUB COACH

Playing Experience:  Casey has been playing volleyball since she was 10 years old.  She played at Emerson Jr/Sr HS for 4 years where she was named captain for 4 seasons.  She received 1st-team all-league two years, and 2nd-team all league for two years.  She also was awarded the MVP and Coaches’ Award while at Emerson HS.  She continued her career at Bergen Community College for 1 season, and was titled captain there as well.  In 2005 while at BCC, her team won 1st place for NJCAA.

Coaching Experience:  Casey has been a member of Cut Shot VBC coaching staff for 5 years now.  Last season she was the 14-Extreme team head coach.  For the 2011-12 season, Casey will be the 15-Capital Co-Head Coach.

Kelly Wengerter

IMPACT CERTIFIED, FORMER COLLEGIATE PLAYER, FORMER CLUB PLAYER, FORMER COLLEGIATE HEAD COACH,

Playing Experience:  A 2005 graduate of Lock Haven, Wengerter majored in sport administration with a minor in coaching. The libero/defensive specialist was a four-year member of the Eagles nationally-ranked volleyball team and served as team captain her junior and senior seasons. She led the team to Atlantic Regional championships in 2001, 2003 and 2004 and a berth in the national semifinals in 2003. Lock Haven also captured the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title in 2003 and 2004 and owned a 103-44 record during Wengerter’s playing career.

Coaching Experience:  Kelly Wengerter recently completed her fourth season as the American International College women’s volleyball head coach. She was named the Yellow Jackets first-ever full-time women’s volleyball coach in June 2008 and is the 12th head coach in the program’s 34-year history. In order to complete her Master of Arts in teaching with a concentration in elementary education and obtain her teaching certificate, she resigned from her position and returned to her family Emerson, NJ to continue her degree at New Jersey City University.

At American International College, Wengerter took over a program that went 6-12 in 2007, and guided the Yellow Jackets to a 70-53 (.569) record with two 20-win seasons in her four years on the bench, placing her second on the programs career wins list. Additionally, AIC went 38-19 (.667) in conference play, and had a total of 11 Northeast-10 all-Conference selections with two Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year recipients.

The Yellow Jackets qualified for the Northeast-10 Championship Tournament in each of Wengerter's four years guiding the program after missing the post season each of the previous four seasons. She also guided AIC to its first-ever NCAA Division II Championship Tournament berth in 2010.

Wengerter arrived at AIC after spending two-plus years at Division III New Jersey City University. She served as an assistant coach each of the past two seasons and was named the Gothic Knights’ head coach in April 2008. The Gothic Knights posted a 61-14 overall record during Wengerter’s tenure and won the 2007 New Jersey Athletic Conference regular season title with a perfect 8-0 league record. NJCU also made two ECAC South Championship Tournament appearances and won the tournament title in 2006, the first in program history.

Since 2005, Wengerter has been active as a coach in the Cutshot Junior Olympic Volleyball Team in Paramus, N.J., serving as head coach since 2007 after handling assistant coach duties from 2005-06. In 2008, Wengerter coached a 16s program that has been ranked as high as No. 10 in the 55-team Garden Empire Volleyball Association.

For the 2011-2012 season, Kelly will be the co-head coach for the 15-Capital Team.

Michelle Yoo

CPR CERTIFIED, IMPACT CERTIFIEDM, FORMER COLLEGIATE ATHLETE, FORMER CUT SHOT PLAYER, CLUB COACH.

Playing Experience: Michelle is a former player of Cut Shot VBC.  She attended Pascack Valley HS, and was a 2-year starter for that program.  Michelle continued her volleyball career and attended East Stroudsburg University where she played volleyball for 2 seasons.

Coaching Experience: Michelle debuted her coaching career last season as Cut Shot’s 15-Select Assistant Coach.  For the 2011-12 season, Michelle will be the 16-Capital Head Coach.
